No glittery vampires here! Briar was such a fun read. I was immediately concerned for our MC Briar and her well being. I quickly ran out of pages and wasn't ready for the story to be over, however I didn't feel as if I was left with a cliffhanger which is always a positive. This is looking to be a slow burn RH, aka no 'action' in this book. I enjoyed Briar sticking to her guns and not allowing the new men in her life to run over her. ...more

I haven't found a book by Ripley Proserpina that I didn't love and Briar is definitely not an exception. The book comes alive and you can almost feel the emotions of each character. This book is definitely part of my top 10 reads of the year. ...more

Intense

This book got much more intense than I expected towards the end. It completely drew me in from the beginning, but it just got better and better as it went along. Unrealistic, of course, because - vampires. But it was thoroughly enjoyable, and I am looking forward to starting the next book in the series right away.
