I almost feel bad giving this a 3 out of 5 stars. There is no doubt that Jaycee Dugard went though hell with the Garridos, and an almost worse hell when she was finally freed after 18 years. I thought that for only having a 5th grade education, Ms. Dugard wrote exceptionally well and was able to get a good bit of her emotional process down on paper. this is a story about how we couldn't really differentiate between human and monster easily.
this book made me drowned into Jaycee's life, it made me thousands times asking myself "what will i do, if that horrible things happen in my life?"

Phillip Garrido is a superb manipulator, he created Jaycee to the kind that he wants to be. Jaycee were really become his slave in every aspects of their lives.
