The Tragedy of True Crime by John J. Lennon is a compelling book in which Lennon addresses many of the issues and problems in the current lives of those incarcerated in the U.S. As a fellow inmate, Lennon offers insightful commentary on the foibles and intricacies of his fellow prisoners and does attempt to show both his intelligence as a writer and his humanity as a convicted murderer.
