This book is an indictment of the Vallejo Police, the FBI, and to a certain extent even Kaiser. But if anyone has shaming rights, it’s this couple and their families. If I had been a reporter in Vallejo at the time (as I am now), I too might have believed the police and not them, so it was an important lesson for me to impart innocent until proven guilty into any and all crime coverage. Don’t be afraid to question the narrative.
