Shelves: non-fiction, true-crime, 2021-read

A really excellent book from the point of view of an FBI agent who mainly investigated crimes against children. Rinek isn’t one of the ‘celebrity’ FBI agents, so most will not have heard of him, or the cases he presents here. This makes for a really interesting book and a dive into unknown cases. He also details the effect investigating some horrendous crimes has had on him, which is something not often spoken about in these types of books.

Shelves: true-crime

I liked this book, but I felt the author was all about himself and patting himself on the back. Having said that, he did say that he wrote the book for his family and in that case, it makes sense. This book made me cry several times.

I heard the author on a podcast and immediately ordered his book. I found the book to be incredibly well written. He wrote so tenderly about the victims. You could feel the deep care he had for his cases and his family.
