Uzun süredir okumak için çıldırdığım ve ancak okuyabildiğim çok sevdiğim serinin kitabı. :)
Sonunda başladım ve bitirdim. Yup yup yup :D :D

Kitap Jace&Seb'in ortadan kaybolmasından sonra arkada bıraktıkların yıkım - yani onları seven ve nefret eden insanların içinde bulundukları mod- dan başlıyor. Kitabın büyük çoğunluğu onları aramakla geçiyor. Her zamanki gibi Clary'i iç kimseyi dinlemeyerek olaya el atıyor ve Jace'in onu alıp götürmesine izin veriyor. Evet alıp götürmesi dem Uzun süredir okumak için çıldırdığım ve ancak okuyabildiğim çok sevdiğim serinin kitabı. :)
Sonunda başladım ve bitirdim. Yup yup yup :D :D

Evet yukarıda Seb'in de Clary'i yanında bulundurmak istediğinden bahsetmiştim. Bunların başında Seb'in ona ilgi duyması geliyor. Kardeşiyle birlikte olmaya çalıştı. Cassandra'nın kitaplarında cinsel tercihler açısından çok çeşitlilik var. Bknz: Önce Magnus şimdide Seb. Aslında Seb'in cinsel anlmadna Clary'e hissettikleri ilk başta Jace yüzünden kaynaklandığını sanmıştım ama yalnızlığından. "sana aidim " demesinden ve en önemlisi Valantine'in Jocelyn'e olan aşırı sapkınlığı ve yazarın Jocelyn&Clary benzerliğinde aşırı durması bana Seb'in aslında Clary'e gerçekte öyle şeyler hissetmediğini farkettirdi. Sonuçta o da Valantine'in oğlu ve Morgnstern soyunu devam ettirebilmek için ve yalnızlığından kurtulabilmek için ortak kandan birini istediğin için bütün bunlar. Neyse benim asıl değinmek istediğim olay. Cassie'nin aile bağları üzerinde daha çok durması gerektiği bu kitaptada istediğimi birazda olsa aldım. Seb'e bir konuda ktılıyorum Clary sürekli " Ben senin gibi değilim " dedi Seb'de ona " Benim gibi değilsin ama Valantine'i öldürdün ve hiç üzülmedin. Sende benim gibisin" gibi bir şey dedi. Özellike CoLS'u okurken sürekli aklımdaydı Clary'nin bu tutumu Seb'ciğim sağolsun bunu dile getirdi. Ayrıca Jocelyn'in oğlundan nefret etmesi. Bal gibi de Seb'i çok seviyor. Seb'de inkar edebilir annesini sevmediğini Jocelyn'nin sakladığı kutuyu neden odasında saklıyordu o zaman ? sorusu geliyor. Bence yazar önümüzdeki kitapta Jocelyn&Clary&Seb üçlüsünde daha çok durmalı... Ve Seb'i onca yaptıklarına rağmen ailede görmek istiyorum. Bana manyak diyebilirsiniz :P:P Ne yapayım " Bad Boys " seviyoruz.

Simon&Izz&Jordan&Mia çiftlerimize değinmek istiyorum. Bu kitapta en çok Simon'ı seviyordum -hala öyle ama bu demek değilki Jace'i sevmiyorum ikiside eşit benim için- bunun en büyük nedeni feci şekilde fedakar olması ve başına Clary yüzünden neler gelmesine rağmen gıkını bile çıkarmaması bence mutluluğu sonuna kadar hak eden bir karakter ve Izzy'e pek ısınamasamda onunla birlikte olmasını çok isterim yazarda zaten bunun sinyallerini fazlasıyla verdi bu kitapta. Ve Kabil işaretini kaybetmesine çok üzüldüm. :(( Bence Simon'un koruma kalkanıydı o. Mia&Jordan sonunda çift oldular ne zaman bir araya gelseler make love durumu. TVD'deki Caroline&Tyler durumu gibi anlayacağınız.

Magnus&Alec en çok üzüldüğüm çifttir. Camille yüzünden araları açıldı. Ama olsun kesin tatlıya bağlanır. Alec yüzünden Hornadale geçmişini daha da çok merak ediyorum. Magnus ser veriyor sır vermiyor. Neden Will ile aşırı benziyor büyük bir muamma. Yazar Magnus u doğru dürüst konuşturmuyor bunu sürekli dile getiriyorum. Neyseki Bane Chronicles imdadıma yetişecek gibi...

Seb bir dahaki kitapta intikam için gelecek. Bence onun asıl intikamı yalnızlığı ve dışlanmışlığı yüzünden. Clary annesi tarafından en sevilen çocuk oysaki Valantine Seb'i bir canavar Jace'i ise bir melekmiş gibi yetiştirmiş bence en büyük sebep kıskançlık ve dışlanmışlık duygusu. Adam davasında haklı bence... :P

Zachariah kardeş. Bu adam neden bu kadar Hornadale ailesine düşkün ? sorusu acaba o da bir Hornadale mi ? En önemlisi Will mi ? sorusunu aklımıza getiryor. Bu Cassandra kafa karıştırmada bir numaralı insan. Jace'in Clary'e İki Şehrin Hikayesini okurken Clary'nin " Ah bu hikayeyi biliyorum aşk üçgeni. Kız sıkıcı olanı seçer " demesi TDI da Tessa'nın da Jem'i seçeceğini mi söylemek istiyordu acaba dememe sebep olsu. Malum Cassandra İki Şehrin Hikayesi üzerine kurmuş TDI ı :((

Fazla sözü uzatmadan son cümlelerimi söylemek istiyorum. Kitap diğer kitaplardaki aynı tempoya sahipti. Ama artık Cassandraya alıştığım için hiçbir şeye şaşırmadım. Verdiği sinyaller harici ve aile bağları harici tabiki. Hiç sıkılmadım Cassandra'nın anlatım tarzını çok seviyorum özellikle bu kitapta Jace&Clary'e fazla yoğunlaşmamış diğer karakterleride anlatarak eşit parçaya bölmüş çok iyi olmuş. Sonunda Jace&Clary'nin tekrar birleşmesi ve ikisinin konuşmları çok güzeldi. Özellikle Clary'nin bağı kırmak için Jace'i bıçaklaması ve ölmemesini dilediği sahne çok iyi yazılmıştı.Jace'de içinde Cennet ateşini taşıyor kılıç sayesinde. Diğer kitapta günü Jace kurtaracak diye düşünmeme sebep oluyor çünkü kitabın adından sanki öyle bir sinyal geliyor : City of Heavenly Fire :))

Neyse Cassanda ah Cassandra bu kızıllar niye bu kadar acımasız !!! Diğer kitaplarını büyük bir merakla bekliyorum ve noktamı koyuyorum artık. :)) :D ...more

So I after reading the previous books in this series I was very excited to get my hands on this book as I loved them so much. I had mixed feelings however going into this book as I didn’t really like City of Fallen Angels and but I was a big fan of the original trilogy. I’ve come to the conclusion now however after finishing this book that I don’t like the extra books in this series. I think it was perfect as a trilogy and everything was wrapped up and sorted and City of Glass left things on suc So I after reading the previous books in this series I was very excited to get my hands on this book as I loved them so much. I had mixed feelings however going into this book as I didn’t really like City of Fallen Angels and but I was a big fan of the original trilogy. I’ve come to the conclusion now however after finishing this book that I don’t like the extra books in this series. I think it was perfect as a trilogy and everything was wrapped up and sorted and City of Glass left things on such a high that it should have been left alone, we still have the prequel series and so this extension is not necessary.

City of Lost Souls starts with Clary being rather depressed at loosing Jace to Sebastian and vowing that she’ll find a way to get him back. The book focuses on the lengths she’ll go to because she loves him and the lengths Sebastian will go to because he doesn’t understand emotion.

THE GOOD BITS

I think that Sebastian made the perfect antagonist because of his inability to understand love and emotion, it provided just the right about of creepiness for him not to be cliche. I also love that Jace is still in the books being his normal handsome self and making me love him as he is the perfect hero for these books. My favorite part of this book however is the comedy, I’ve always liked the comedy in this series and this book didn’t disappoint. I did also like the romance that is now growing between Isabel and Simon because their both so different it’s nice to see how they’re changing to become more alike.

At the start I did really like how different this book was to the others and the darker tone it had taken so I did read it all relativity quickly as I did get hocked to it.

THE BAD BITS

I’ve think I’ve just got to accept it after this book that the extension trilogy is never going to be as good as the original. They aren’t bad books but my expectations have been so high that I think it’s time I took them down a few pegs. I found myself slowly beginning to hate a lot of the characters in this book because aside from the Jace/Clary/Sebastian parts almost everything else was pointless. I don’t think one person reading these books thinks that Mia and Jordan aren’t going to end up together so drawing out their confusion is just plain boring to read and the drama that has gone on in Alec and Magnus’ relationship just lacks common sense, nobody could read this book and actually still ship who’ve they’e become as Alec has just become so stupid. Clary and Jace too aren’t without their flaws as the amount of times Clary just “melts into Jace” in this book and forgets what she was doing makes me want to throw up.

What most annoyed me about this book was the 2nd 3rd, the first 3rd was rather good as you could see how desperately Clary wanted Jace back and the last 3rd was rather good because of the action, but the 2nd third -.- it should have been scaled down. I never for one moment thought that Sebastian was a good guy or even a guy with conflicting morals, so the whole trying to get us to empathise with him thing was totally wasted on me as you could tell he was just going to turn back evil again, so the pretending to be bosom buddies and backpacking around Europe part wasn’t worth reading. I think by the time I got to the epilogue I’d got so frustrated and annoyed with what were once good characters that I just didn’t care.

Overall I would say that this book would be ok as a stand alone book but as part of the awesomeness that is the mortal instruments it’s very disappointing and it made me loose hope for the 6th book being awesome, but at least we still have the prequels. ...more

i was hesitant to read this at first. the last book was not one of my favorites. i was afraid of what might happen to the characters i fell in love with..but a few chapters in -- i couldn't stop my eyes from scanning the letters on the page fast enough. my FAVORITE scenes was when Simon and Isabelle were together :)
