What Members Thought

Here's the thing, series ending books always stir up some level of controversy. Always. And sure enough, there are already readers who are disappointed in Clockwork Princess. Why? Because it didn't end the way they thought it would.
Three things I loved about the ending/epilogue (no spoilers so read ahead):
1. No half human-half vamp babies were born. (let's not even bring up lack of imprinting, thank heavens)
2. No one uttered "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." (worst cliffhanger ending ever ...more

OMG JEM I NEED MORE OF YOU IN MY LIFE!!!

It was a "good read". It was a good series. It had lovable characters, good plot twists, great action, good dialog and was well-written.
But why then only three stars?
Well to be frank, I think I've outgrown the series and maybe even the author. Hell! I think I've out grown the entire YA genre. It was a good read but it didn't captivate me as it did other readers (apparently). I was able to finish the book without any real emotional attachment to the characters. I love these books. They are YA and they are fanciful, dangerous, and romantic. This is the last book of the prequel trilogy to the Mortal Instruments books. I love that we see familiar characters in the past who we have known in the present. I love that Clare can write such a beautiful love story set among angels and demons. She wrote so that I believed Tessa loved both Will and Jem. I usually find myself rooting for one of the heroes but in this case, the reader loves both of the boys as well

I've said before that I started reading Cassandra Clare books within a few days of finishing the Harry Potter series. I was so lucky to go from one amazing story to another that is just as personally amazing. After reading the first book I have anxiously awaited the coming out of each book thereafter. Nothing different about this one, but I was very cautious to avoid spoilery web content. I re-listened to the first two Infernal Devices books and finished just in time to read this book over the w

I have put off reading Clockwork Princess because I knew I was not emotionally ready to cope with the myriad of possible scenarios. As someone born with an overdose of empathy, I knew I would have to be girthed I tissues and waterproof mascara. Clockwork Princess is an amazing conclusion to the Infernal Devices series. I can not imagine any fan of the story to be disappointed. 5 Seraph blades, I mean stars.
