This book is the first book in Cassandra Clare's Mortal instruments series. In this book, a girl named Clary has a normal life, but one day when she goes to a club with her best friend Simon, she wittness' something unimagineable. City of Bones while witty and interesting, did not live up to my expectations. I saw through a major plot point halfway through the book which didn't leave the ending as compelling as other book endings were. The antagonist was completely evil, and while some series have all-evil villains, I was expecting more from Cassandra Clare in terms of shades of grey since she's so skilled at that. I started reading this book because of the great review given by Stephenie Meyer.
When I started to read the first several chapters I thought Stephenie must have been given a large amount of cash to write such a good review, but as I kept reading I found myself getting more and more swept away into the world of Shadowhunters.
I can now say that this book is fantastic and I now know exactly why Stephenie enjoyed it so much!
Love this book!!

I have never read a book like this... It was absolutely amazing, could not stop reading it.
Fell in love with all the characters, who couldn't fall in love with Jace, he is just the definition of perfect!!!
The story was never dull, full of excitement and suspense. I have read this book a few times, it was that good. The entire series is awesome. ...more
