City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) in Q&A with Cassandra Clare

The mortal instruments trilogy is one of the best fantasy series that I've read and the city of glass, the last installment of the books is indeed the best among the three.

The story progresses and it improve a lot. The setting change from new york to Idris which is great because we finally see what Idris is.

The characters enormously change, became mature and we get to know their personality and idealism more.

The storyline became darker, the villains in the story are really evil. I love the twi The mortal instruments trilogy is one of the best fantasy series that I've read and the city of glass, the last installment of the books is indeed the best among the three.

The storyline became darker, the villains in the story are really evil. I love the twists of the story it's very much realistic and acceptable and I don't really have the feeling like they got a major plot hole just to have a twist in the story like what happen in *coughs* Breaking Dawn *coughs*.

This story also gave us an epic battle in the end, which somehow reminds me of the battle of Hogwarts with the deadline thingy and the fact that Jace was dead and he in the end was resurrected that reminds me of what happen to Harry as well, when he somehow escape death.

Though I must admit that even the strongest factor of this book is the romance, the teenage angst, the fight scenes and the supernatural fiction genre, and to add that this book is very entertaining(won't argue about that).

It still amazes me that somehow this book has moral lessons as well. It talks about idealism and humanity, it's reminiscent of Death note and Code Geass wherein true idealism is achieve by trusting with the people's abilities and not by eradicating all mankind.

It's also talks about knowing who you really are, where you belong and what family really is.

This is just, for me a very great book because reading this is like I'm in a whirlpool of emotions, I laugh, smile, cry, fall in love, horrified, thrilled, etc.

It's just feels great to finally finish this series knowing that the characters that I learn to love had a happy ending and it's satisfying now that I know the answers.

I just want to say thank you Ms. Clare for introducing me to Jace and Clary's world and I hope that I could read your works in the future. Kudos to you. ...more

Loved it! Amazing! I am beyond happy of how this book ended. I wish I could live in Idris!

I am swaying between 4 and 5 stars. This book made the whole series so worth it!

The details in these books are so vivid, everything from beauty to grotesque and from magical to horror. Other books I have read, I can be a little flexible on how the characters look but with this series I have a very vivid picture of each character (they are all really **HOT** in their own unique way).

So, I have just finished the Mortal Instruments trilogy, and I am quite impressed. First of all, it was a fun ride. A fast read, with lots of humor and touching moments and some beautiful descriptions - never over the top, never too much. The characters really drew me in, and I was reading for their sake, which is marvelous.
I don't often read YA fiction for a reason - I am not a young adult anymore and my interests and desires lie elsewhere. I was sometimes about to pull my hair out when the to ...more
