I love the sequel so much. I can't totally put it down. It's fast-paced, very well written from the beginning until the end. I have to admit I've been hooked. I got to see the official site of the mortal instruments and saw the artwork which is very cool. I really believe that this could be very well translated into a movie and maybe became a hit like the Harry Potter and the Twilight Series does. It is hard for me to explain how I feel about these books. Cassandra Clare is a VERY creative and descriptive writer. It just makes my stomach turn when she describes how gory and smelly the demons are.
The first book had mainly Clary's POV, the daughter of a demon hunter (shadow hunter), but this book has POV's of other shadow hunters, a werewolf and a vampire. She also introduces beautiful AND not so pretty faeries in this book.

Guilty as charged. The first book, she plot dumped; this book everything tasted or smelled like metal. Oh and everyone had curving smiles. But it was entertaining. The brother/sister love triangle is still icky. I assume she's going to resolve that in the third book...and Jace hopefully won't be her brother.

I liked this book. I feel like it took me al ong time to read it. It wasn't one that grabbed my attention and I had to finish, but I like it enough to continue on in the series.
