I've already shared my love for the City of Bones, so now it's City of Ashes' turn. :)
This book definitely has more dark parts than City of Bones, and it's packed full of action. After the revelation at the end of City of Bones, which I'm sure anyone who's read knows what I'm talking about...Clary and her friends have even more challenges up ahead.

City of Ashes is the second book in the mortal instruments series. It shows how Jace and Clary struggle with their relationship as brother and sister and also their psychotic father.
I find it very hard to pick a favorite out of the Mortal Instruments and I’ve found that City of Ashes unlike most middle novels in a series puts up a fair fight for favorite. There are plenty of bits in this novel that stand out and make it a good contender, e.g. the scenes in silent city, and the scene on the boat. ...more

The Mortal Instruments. What can I say? I mean besides stating the obvious: This is a MUST read! The first three books in this six part series are just phenomenal. Cassandra Clare creates a world so unlike anything I have ever read before. It is completely original, exciting, and intriguing.
