After reading Catherine Jink's Babylonne, I've decided that Crusade-age books aren't so bad. I'm not a historical fiction fan; I stick to fantasy, but the thing about very old historical fiction (like, a thousand years ago) is that it's just like fantasy. I veer away from historical fiction in general, because most of it, in my experience, is within the past 500 years, and it's a bother to look for the stuff I'm interested in, pre-gun fighting, torches, horses taking you everywhere.
