Since whatever review I’ll write won’t measure to the entertainment and ride I found in the book, I’ll direct you to Mr. Stephen King and his review of the Hunger Games (I find his review really amusing with the exception of the Grade B)

So, of course, this is the dystopian series that started it all. The Hunger Games. The whole series has been sitting on my shelf for a while now, and when I found out I'd be taking two thirteen-hour flights, I figured it was time to buckle down and start this thing. I won't write a summary for this book because there's a fine one under the book title but I will give my thoughts. I L O V E this book!!!!!
Katniss is such an independent girl and a great hero for the girls of Panem and her world. She is strong, courageous and loves her friends and family dearly. She starts the 'game' not expecting to come out alive but wants to do all she can to make it back to her sister Prim who sees Katniss as almost a mother figure.
