[close] Many people decry this book as a paraphrase that is overly influenced by so called "new age" sentiments, but it was just what I needed when casting around for an antidote to the well intentioned advice from friends to trust God and stop worrying.

My anxiety was in large part related to my loss of certainty about the ultimate meaning of life, and I was questioning my faith. This book was practical,in touch with reality, and written in contemporary English. It gave concrete teachings on how to shift my thoughts in a way that relieved anxiety about much of what I could not control.

I also liked the generalized references to "the will of nature" and small g god.
