I love Murderbot.

This is the sweetest and funniest book about a killer robot you’re likely to ever find. It’s got a bit of everything in such a short book.

I can’t wait to read the next one. Nothing like a TV watching introverted death robot.

In addition to being an interesting look at what it means to be human, it’s an interesting look at gender. I admit, I projected a bit of female onto it, and it’s interesting to look at why. Mostly because if I was going to ship anybody it would be Murderbo ...more

Since I can't give half stars, giving it 3 though this is a strong 3.5 for me. I think maybe it wasn't long enough for me to get into so I wasn't head over heels in love with it but bit, I sure do want to know what's going to happen to MurderBot so luckily Book 2 is coming my way soon. ...more

A character centered novel - where the main character is a SecUnit who hacked his government issued module, so that he no longer has to receive directive from them. He refers to himself as Murderbot and loves to watch TV ... while of course, protecting himself and his human charges from harm.

This was a real funny story, even if it was not clear at the beginning that I was on for a surprise, that's why I am also so pleased to know that there are 5 more books waiting for me :)

Sci-fi and fantasy can be tough to pull off in novella form, but All Systems Red does it perfectly! The world has just enough meat on it to feel substantial without too much in-depth world building, the characters are well established, and Murderbot makes for a very fun main character to follow. Really enjoyed this first book and look forward to diving into the rest of the series!
