an exercise in narrative tedium and creative indulgence producing something almost unreadable. agonisingly boring, rambling, inane, superfluous, despite the mad premise and all the zanniniess. the jesus sections are the most interesting and well written - the rest is just mind numbing crap.

Well for the first time ever, I am DNF'ing (I know, not a word) a book. I even had to create a shelf for it, after being adamant that I would never, ever have a DNF shelf.
I don't know how to process this feeling. I have slogged my way through some truly horrendous shit because I have a problem with needing to finish shows and books even if I hate them, but for reasons I don't understand, The Master and Margarita is the book that finally broke me.
