Maybe 2.5 - but I rated it less because I need my books to have a story - a plot ... To start somewhere, and end up somewhere else, with things happening in between the beginning and the end. That's what I think this book lacks. A+ for writing style and premise, as well as world building. But without a dramatic story - and it easily could have one - I was left counting the pages until the end.

I have complexes and mixed feelings about this book, and I've had them all along. Since the beginning I was captivated by the story, the setting was so unsettling (pun intended) that I was eager to see how the story was going to proceed, but my problem has always been the fact that I find the prose of Margaret Atwood slow, so slow that I always read some other books in the meantime.
