What Members Thought
FANTASTIC. I 'read' the Audible version narrated by Claire Danes, and she does a great job. I have not (yet) seen any of the TV show but now I MUST watch, just to get 'more' of this story! The only thing about the book, tho, is that the END seemed to be when the story actually STARTS. Hard to believe that Atwood wrote this 30 years ago, as it feels so contemporary. --Jen from Quebec :0)

Maybe 2.5 - but I rated it less because I need my books to have a story - a plot ... To start somewhere, and end up somewhere else, with things happening in between the beginning and the end. That's what I think this book lacks. A+ for writing style and premise, as well as world building. But without a dramatic story - and it easily could have one - I was left counting the pages until the end.

Not sure why I was so keen to read this (probably from seeing all the hype and reviews), but if I’d wanted to read more about a dystopia I could’ve simply just read the news.
Didn’t enjoy the writing too, but I think the monotony was part of the voice.
