I read this back in high school and it was my favourite required read by far. I recall doing a project on the language used: the scrabble choices, the titles, phrases the protagonist talks about.
This reread just confirmed how damn good the book is. I love that ending as well - university of Nunavut! That wouldn't have hit me on my high school reading. Margaret Atwood is one of my favorite authors. She combined morality fights and religiously political issues into a non stop fictional read.
I remember when signed up for a library card in the Tampa Bay system, times were tough then and I barely had money for a book, let alone food. The world that Atwood creates is eerily close to our own, which is what makes this book so successful and also so disturbing.
