I have had this on TBR for awhile and got around to reading it because the plan was to teach it in the upcoming semester. I have read The Blind Assassin and the Maddadam trilogy so I am familiar with Atwood's style and ideas. It took me a little time to get used to the subtle way the story was told through the eyes of the Handmaid in this dystopian society. A lot is left unsaid and I was curious as to why the world became the way it was in the book.
