Extremely entertaining trip through computer and video game history as well as some classic science fiction. The plot was fairly mundane, but the picture of a future reality where everyone spent a great deal of time logged into a Second Life like virtual reality was fun and sufficiently detailed to carry the novel. I really liked this book and the production of it. So much so that once I was fully engaged I would turn it on and listen as I got ready for work. I'd listen until I had to turn it off then play it as soon as I could. I'd fall asleep every night lying in bed listening to the book.

Shelves: dystopia

Loved it. I don't know even what shelf/shelves to put it on, because it felt like a dystopia, but OASIS sure didn't seem dystopian...although the outside world was. It reminded me of Cory Doctorow's For The Win and some of his other stuff (and there was a little h/t to CD in the book!!). All in all, highly recommended! ...more
