Even though so many readers I respect kept hounding me to read this book, I put it off for years because (I know, you guys, I'm ready for the dropped jaws) I didn't love Grapes of Wrath. I mean, I was an English major, so I certainly appreciate it, and the writing is obviously fantastic, but I didn't really enjoy reading it.
