It's funny; I seem to read at least one spooky-carnival book every Fall.
This book has so much going for it. This was my first experience with Bradbury and I'm almost afraid to read his other works. How can it possibly beat this? Very dark, whimsical, and successful at conjuring the best sort of nostalgia while also making you wary of it. It has clean-cut themes but the delivery isn't at all forceful. Generally, I tend to avoid classic books (I may have mentioned this before) due to slogging through long descriptions, trying to find bits of plot and action (Frankenstein anyone? :P). However, I have always found carnivals, circuses, and fairs interesting and do have a taste for the macabre as well so I thought I would give this book a shot (also the synopsis sounded interesting).
