Briefly and superficially, this is an account of the opium-influenced hallucinations and/or experiences of a sick man in mid-20th-century Iran.
I admired the writing here, and I particularly appreciated the circularity of the repetitions and the way that brought out the narrator's obsessive rumination.

i can't remember how far i got but i didn't finish - had to return to library - had read it was a lost masterpiece, actually lots of waffling about being on drugs and feeling knocked out and hallucinating...
