★★★ cozy and very Japanese-y

ญี่ปุ๊นญี่ปุ่น สุดยอดตัวอย่างชาวเกาะที่เราคงไม่มีวันเข้าใจวิธีการคิดของตัวละครได้ 100% หยิบมาอ่านเพราะไปนอนเล่นบ้านเพื่อน เห็นอยู่บนชั้นวางเลยเอามาลองอ่าน ก็โอเคนะ ฆ่าเวลาได้ดี เป็นเรื่องสั้น 2 เรื่องที่เซตติ้งเดียวกันที่ร้านหนังสือเก่าในย่านจิมโบโช ชอบความรู้สึกของการเป็นคอมมิวนิตี้ในหนังสือ ช่วงที่นางเอกค่อยๆเข้าไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของละแวกบ้านคือมันนุ่มใจเรามาก แถวบ้านเราก็มีทั้งร้านหนังสือมือสองและร้านกาแฟ รู้สึกอยากเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของคอมมูแบบนางเอกบ้างจัง

อ่ะ ก็คือเรื่อง ★★★ cozy and very Japanese-y

ญี่ปุ๊นญี่ปุ่น สุดยอดตัวอย่างชาวเกาะที่เราคงไม่มีวันเข้าใจวิธีการคิดของตัวละครได้ 100% หยิบมาอ่านเพราะไปนอนเล่นบ้านเพื่อน เห็นอยู่บนชั้นวางเลยเอามาลองอ่าน ก็โอเคนะ ฆ่าเวลาได้ดี เป็นเรื่องสั้น 2 เรื่องที่เซตติ้งเดียวกันที่ร้านหนังสือเก่าในย่านจิมโบโช ชอบความรู้สึกของการเป็นคอมมิวนิตี้ในหนังสือ ช่วงที่นางเอกค่อยๆเข้าไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของละแวกบ้านคือมันนุ่มใจเรามาก แถวบ้านเราก็มีทั้งร้านหนังสือมือสองและร้านกาแฟ รู้สึกอยากเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของคอมมูแบบนางเอกบ้างจัง

อ่ะ ก็คือเรื่องแรกนางเอกเจอเรื่องบ้งๆมา ฟีลอกหัก เลยมาพักใจที่ร้านหนังสือโมริซากิของญาติ ไปๆมาๆก็ค้นพบความรักในการอ่าน ผูกมิตรกับคนในละแวกบ้าน ก้าวข้ามผ่านปัญหาตัวเอง (ที่ก็งงๆ) แล้วก็ได้สานสัมพันธ์กับน้าชายที่เป็นเจ้าของร้าน (ฟีลชายยุ่น 40+ ขี้แพ้เมียทิ้ง แต่ก็มีดีในแบบของนาง) ไม่ได้มีอะไรน่าจดจำขนาดนั้น แต่จุดที่ชอบเป็นพิเศษคือเซตติ้งร้านหนังสือเก่า 🥺🥺🥺🥺 อ่านแล้วโคตรอยากไปโตกียว แล้วก็มี ref หนังสือน่าอ่านเต็มเลยเพราะอีตาน้าชายเป็นเนิร์ดวรรณกรรม 5555

ใดๆ จุดที่ไม่ค่อยอินเลยคือปมของนางเอกกับวิธีแก้ปัญหา (จริงๆคนมันอกหักทุกวันแต่อ่านละน่าเบื่อโคตร ส่วนวิธีแก้ปัญหาก็เบียวๆ แต่ก็เออ มันแบบคนธรรมดาบางทีคิดอะไรได้ก็ทำได้แค่นั้นไรงี้มั้ง) แต่ก็ดีที่ไม่ได้ให้ air time ชายแทร่จู๋ไม่ซื่อในการอธิบายอะไรมากมาย เป็นเพื่อนหญิงพลังหญิงแบบญี่ปุ่นดี ตัดควยตัดแอร์ทามตัดใจ จบ

เรื่องหลังเป็นเรื่องสั้นเกี่ยวกับเมียของน้าขี้แพ้ (ที่กล่าวไว้ข้างต้น) กลับมาหลังจากหนีหายไปหลายปี กลับมาแล้วก็มาพยายามทำความเข้าใจกันใหม่ ยัดตัวเองเข้ามาในบ้านที่ตัวเองทิ้งไว้เบื้องหลังแบบค้านสายตาคนรอบข้าง (รวมถึงคนอ่านด้วย) อ่านแล้วก็สัมผัสได้ถึงความหลากหลายของผู้คนดีนะ (ที่แปลว่าทุกคนก็มีความแปกๆในแบบของตัวเอง) ข้อเสียคือแทบไม่มีฉากร้านหนังสือหลงเหลืออยู่เลย เหมือนถ่ายหนังคนละเรื่องมาขอใช้ฉากในสตูเดียวกันเฉยๆ 555 อ่านๆไปก็คิดว่า เราแคร์ตัวละครขนาดจะอยากรู้สะระตะอะไรขนาดนั้นมั้ย ก็ไม่ ครึ่งหลังเลยอ่อมๆหน่อย แต่ก็พอได้ รวมๆคือดีแบบสามดาว นุ่มใจแต่ไม่ไรต่อ

ปล. เป็นอีกครั้งที่รู้สึกว่าญี่ปุ่นแปลอิ๊งมันบ่คือ 555 เพราะมันไม่มีระดับภาษาที่คนไทยได้ยินแล้วนุ่มใจ มันเลยดูต้องตีความเยอะเป็นพิเศษเพราะมันลบความเป็นญี่ปุ่นออกไปเยอะเลย (อธิบายไม่ถูก just makes sense to me)

I picked up this book only because I saw it at my friend's house and I was kinda just lowkey hanging out there over the weekend with nothing better to do 😮‍💨

Days at the Morisaki Bookshop is two short stories mashed into one. The first one stays true to its title as Takako, the protagonists recalled the time when she spent her days at the Morisaki Bookshop, a secondhand bookshop owned by her uncle. She ended up there after having life-altering moments, and her time at the bookshop has rekindled her will to live for herself and her dreams. The second story was less about the bookshop but more about the people around it. Takako's aunt has returned after walking away from her uncle five years ago. She asserted herself into everyone's lives again all of the sudden, and we got to learn more as the story progress the reasons behind her actions, etc.

I think these kinds of books are in their own category, so if you look for something cozy with no plot this is probably it. Plus, it's a book about books so that's a huge bonus 👌 ...more

This was 100% a mood pick and a perfect fit!

I love the idea of "hiding" in a second hand bookshop - what a holiday; wonder if there is a good business plan there!

The protagonist, Takako, suffered a heartbreak at the beginning of the story when out of the blue, her 'estranged' uncle called her up to stay at the bookshop to help him out.
