Bonedog is the best! A happy go lucky pup made of bones and copper wire. Always there for his friends. Without bonedog this tale may have been too dark doe me.

Marra was placed in a monastery to keep in holding incase she is needed to marry the prince. Marra sees how he treats her sister and sets out on a quest to save her sister, the queen of the north lands. Along the way she visits enchanted markets, wastelands, and catacombs. She collects friends along the way that help with her quest.

T. Kingfisher never disappoints. This is a true fairy tale for adults - and I don’t mean that in the grimdark kind of way. It’s everything I ever wanted from my childhood fairy tales, but this time with characters and situations that match my adult life.
At one point I was reading and my leg was bouncing so much that my husband commented on my agitation. “It’s an exciting book, OK? Let me finish!”
I just loved this!
