I loved this book! The best parts of the book are definitely the parts that include his friend Steven Katz who is just hilarious. I have always wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail so this book allowed me to live vicariously through the writer.
This was definitely humorous, but as an AT thru-hiker (2007) I found it kind of inaccurate. I was also disappointed that he didn't do the whole thing!

This book makes me want to go hiking...which is a miracle!! Also, I gathered a great deal of historic and environmental information from Bryson's writing. He seamlessly combines tales of the trail with historic tidbits and facts about the AT itself. Very good read!

Loved this book It is a great read of walking the Appalachian Trail told with depth and humor.
