I absolutely adored this book, even though I read it wayyyy later than everyone I know. Better late than never, right? I'd like to come back to this and review it more thoroughly at some point, but I will say: believe the hype. It really is *that good.

There's a reason I've heard so much about Evelyn Hugo - it's amazing and lives up to the hype. The less you know about the plot the better so I won't go into details. I will say that if you have a plane ride or vacation or enforced idleness coming up this is the perfect book to bring along, and it's Queer as all get out, too.

It's good and I like it very much. Only that half way into the story I no longer care about any of her husbands, in fact I never cared about her marriage from the beginning (I don't like Hollywood gossips that much). But the storytelling was so good I could not put down the book! The twist and final disclosure, the climactic moment was good too. Great, complex and strong characters (I'm a little bit in love with Harry Cameron, to be honest). I really recommend this. ...more

Wow. Really. Wow. Brilliant writing by Taylor Jenkins Reid in telling the fictional story of Evelyn Hugo and her 7 husbands - simply brilliant. She drew me in and did not let go; this is a remarkable story by a very talented writer that you will not want to put down or let go of after it is finished. Fabulous reading.
