It's not Patti Smith, it's me - it's just that at this stage of my life, a lyrical observation of life a la being poor and artistically driven in the 70s just...doesn't work on me the way it used to anymore. I guess I would have loved this so much, had I read this when I was in college when I still believed struggles were some sort of a gift and not a curse.
