This book was recommended to me when I asked about books that might give me an idea what Italy was like during WWII. This story is focused on an Italian-Jewish community in northern Italy and Jewish refugees that crossed into Italy when Mussolini was overthrown only to find themselves caught there when the Germans occupied northern Italy.
