September 2022 reread: Bumping this up a tad to 3.5 stars. A comforting reread, and just what I'm looking for today. Now on to the second book.
Original review: This is my first Chambers so I didn't fall into it as easily as those who know her style might, but that doesn't stop it from being a lovely story. There's some heavy worldbuilding, expected in book one of a series, but it doesn't take away from the plot.
