I thoroughly enjoyed The Marrow Theives. I thought it was a fascinating take on the sort of dystopia that could arise out of climate change chaos. I loved the way the past was repeating itself in terms of the schools and I loved even more the power of indigenous language to blow the whole system apart.

If Dimaline writes more in this world, I’d love to read it. You get glimpses of what went wrong and how things changed, but I’d love more than those glimpses.

Yet another book I thought I would end up liking more than I did. The idea sounded amazing but the ending really kinda fell flat for me.

*Edit: Just saw there is a sequel, so the ending of this one make a little more sense, but I still feel there was something missing from this book. Cherie's Empire of Wild was the same thing. Sounds like it's going to be really good and end up being just meh. I'm having mixed feelings about to giving the sequel a shot or not.
