This was good. It was my first David Mitchell, and because of his prose, I'm more than willing to try another. The story was just a story - honorable men and evil men, no trouble telling the white hats from the black hats. And that, of course, is why it isn't 5 stars. Exciting plot in the last 150 pages, but characterization, which I prefer, was thin at best. I simply felt no connection to the participants.
