I honestly don't get it why do lots of readers seem to believe that Katniss is at fault for not killing anyone in cold blood - only as mercy, revenge, self-defence etc. People tend to say that it makes the plot too neat and bow-tied for their tastes.

After hearing all the hype surrounding this series, I decided I should read it and see if the hype was legit. So I purchased the series and I have to say, I am blown away. This is the first book in a long time where I have been able to sit down and read for hours and hours on end. I read the first two thirds of the book in one setting, and finished the book the very next chance I got.

I went back and forth between loving this book and hating it. First of all, life is very precious to me. The idea that society had devolved so far that watching children kill each other would be entertaining was repulsive to me. All that aside, this was an amazing book. I was disappointed about the fake romace thing, though. I kept hoping that Katniss would discover her true feelings for Peeta. I loved this book! I'm a huge fan of post-apocalyptic literature and I really appreciated the way Collin's approached the genre. It was such a pleasure to read. I felt like a morphling addict.. just couldn't put it down.

This book starts out very slow, but does pick up once the games begin. I really didnt care about any of these characters, and the best part of the story for me was the political aspects. I will check out the next book though because it has me intrigued enough to continue.
I literally fell in love with this book, i haven't read anything like this in a very long time, it got a little bet of everything, what i loved the most was Katniss Everdeen, and her way of handling everything during the book, all of the characters are lovable, it's a really amazing mind blowing book could'nt put it down!

Great plot, well written, but why the hell in this tense? Seriously, why?! 3 stars from me because of that.
Glad I finally read it. Fun and required little thinking.
