What Members Thought
I enjoyed this book, and now really want to see the movie. I was expecting something a little more plot-heavy and a little more fast-paced than this book turned out to be. The book is actually more a quiet contemplation of what would happen if suddenly no more children were born. PD James has a very nice writing style and her characters were interesting and robust. I was intrigues by this book, because of the premise. I was not too impressed though. The whole 1st part of the book had nothing to do with the rest of the story. The beginning talks mostly about the prison colony, the island of men". The 2nd half of the book is what the description talks about. I did think it has a very scary premise, and it wasn't over the top sensational -- no huge fights/battles, etc. Worth a read though.
