The first book in Stephen Kings epic fantasy series; The Dark Tower, overall opinion was that it is not one of King's best works and if it wasn't for the fact that I already own the next two books in the series I would seriously consider the option of giving up after the first book. It wasn't that it was a bad book it just hasn't produced the sort of imagery that epic fantasies usually deliver. The beginning
I did not fully appreciate this one on my first reading. I love the Dark Tower series and The Gunslinger is a must. Great blend of western, suspense, and fantasy.
