I was never one for the ancient gods and their stories and so, despite all the rave reviews, I've avoided this one for a time but curiosity got the better of me. I chose audiobook because that it the medium I'd go for for difficult reads because I can either speed it up or 'listen' (or rather not quite listen) to it while I cook or do my chores. This was a very enjoyable, quick read. It didn't spark much for me to say here in a review -- it's not particularly thought-provoking and there are no writing or other problems that annoyed me. Just a well-written story giving Circe the background and ending that she deserves.

My first book by this author, we enjoyed it while traveling to TN recently. It was interesting to me that my teenage grandson could identify who was being described before they were named, and that he was so knowledgeable about the mythology. 4.5 stars, rounded to 5. AtY week 34. A book with a person's name in the title PSC - A book inspired by myth/legend/folklore
