A few years back, I visited the town in Pennsylvania where the German ancestors of my family first settled and where their German last name was changed to a more Americanized version because of the difficulties of being German in America after WWII. I have been interested in the Holocaust and read a lot about it over the years, both non fiction and historical fiction, but I have not read as much about the German people living through the war.
