Pensavo di leggere la storia di una simpatica vecchietta del Maine, che guarda indietro nel tempo e sorride della sua vita e mi trovo per le mani un personaggio talmente acido che la metà basta, una professoressa di matematica in pensione che non ha mai chiesto scusa in vita sua e il cui unico figlio farà terapia tutta la vita.

More like 4.5. This is a seriously depressing book as many people have said - but I thoroughly appreciated it. The writing is brilliant and I liked the fact that the stories all took place in relation to the people Olive Kitteridge knew (and including her and her family of course). There are 1 or 2 stories that I didn't like as much as the others - like The Piano Player and Winter Concert, which both seemed a little random - but all in all, this is one of the most interesting short story collect

I loved this book! It was so beautifully written and I loved every single one of the individual stories. The only thing I didn't like about the book is that each of the stories keeps you wanting more, at the end of each story I didn't want it to end, however, the next story was always so good and drew me in so much I soon forgot about the last.
