I don't typically read books of this sort but I think, after reading A Man Called Ove, that I will be reading a lot more. This is simple story about a simple man. But it teaches us so much. It's a story about grief and life and love and friendship and integrity. So small and yet so big.

I totally love this book and wish Ove was my neighbor. Ove is a man living on his own after his wife's death. He comes off rather curmudgeonly at the beginning of the book but the gruff exterior is hiding a man who was absolutely devoted to his wife and to working hard and doing the right thing. This book had me alternately crying my eyes out and laughing heartily. Along with Ove I love his neighbors Parvaneh, her kids, Jimmy, Anita and Rune and the mangy cat who I would totally adopt. Vacillating between a 4 & 5 star review. I'm going to let it sink in for a few days. I may change my mind. This book had a major impact on my emotions. It was like the Disney movie Up come to life on the page.
