What Members Thought

I read this book in three chunks - and as withso many books, it had nothing to do with my enjoyment of the book because I was really enjoying it. But I originally was reading it for book club before Denver Comic Con and I didn’t get it finished. Then I didn’t read at all during DCC and my library copy expired and the wait list was long. Finally got back to it and read another chunk just before we got into moving mode and I put it down again. Finished off the last hour today.

I am not an expert in Russian fairy tales and folklore. I do like fairy tales. I loved this story and I am always interested in learning about folklore from around the world. I really enjoyed this story. Vasya is a brave, strong woman who has the gift of sight and she can see for lack of better word fae folk. Her mother had the sight and died in childbirth bringing Vasya into the world. She is one of my favorite characters. I also liked her brother Aylosha. I learned a great deal about Russian f
