The Funeral Dress was an intriguing title, and it led me to pick the book up. I'm glad I did, because it was a heart warming story of triumph over adversity, the truths we keep hidden and the strength we can find in others and share with others. The title refers to Emmalee, a young Appalachian mountain girl, who has been befriended by an older woman named Leona, who works next to her at the clothing factory.
