I was too old for this book. Plus that much Google love has to be unhealthy. But it was sweet and my 14 year old loved it.
This book was a total surprise for me. I read it as a part of my online book club. I picked it because it sounded slightly better than the two other choices, and I am so glad I did!
This is a story about a graphic designer, who gets a job as a clerk in a bookshop, that seems to be a site for borrowing books for some strange book club, where people show up to get books. He starts uncovering the secrets of the group, along with a visualization programmer from Google.

Part Indiana Jones, part Star Wars, part DaVinci Code, with a tad of Nick and Nora and a large splash of Google.
Our hero, Clay Jannon takes a job as the night clerk at Mr Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore because he really needs a job. What he finds is a puzzle, one that he can't resist pulling his friends in to help him solve it. After all, what could be more mysterious than the secret of immortality.

How much fun is this book! Not what I expected at all.
The geekery is over the top and you just enjoy where this story takes you. I love that so much of this story revolves around the association of a fantasy dragon trilogy.
I love that they go on a quest (I love it, a quest)! It's a grand adventure wrapped in secret societies, books, technology, and pop culture thrown in.
