What a beautiful little novel! I'm so happy to have stumbled across it through my Goodreads friends. I had heard of Haruf's Plainsong novels, but never more than just in passing. As such, this was my first experience with his writing, and it absolutely blew me away.

My first Kent Haruf was read in one setting and really appreciated, I'm going to read some other books he wrote as fast as I will recover from this dive in sadness. A great writer from a normal story that became wonderful due to his words.
