When reading George Saunders, I have discovered a few tools to have at hand to maximize the short story reading experience.
-Thinking cap: For lengthy stories such as Escape From Spiderhead and The Semplica Girl Diaries. I recommend reading these first to get a solid look at Saunders’ syntax of ideas and sophisticated Twain-like style.
-Open mind: For stories such as Puppy where a tough decision has to be made by two characters.
-Twisted sense of humor: For stories such as Home and My Chivalric F ...more

Another reader may have enjoyed these more, but they weren't really for me. A couple of stories were good, but overall I found the writing a bit... pretentious or something
