I enjoyed this re-engagement with the themes of Mrs. Dalloway. The author has approached Woolf's novel in three ways through three different characters whose perspectives alternate. First, there's Virginia Woolf herself, who is in the process of writing Mrs. Dalloway. Could not stop reading this book! Amazing read, and beautifully crafted literature. I don't think I've read a book this "smooth" in a very long time, or ever! Focusing on the three Dalloway connected women this book is an excellent exploration of women, their lives, their stuggles and what they need as a voice. I usually HATE chick literature, and this is NOT chick literature. It's a strong indictment against the stifling of a woman's voice and the drive to be heard in the world around you.
