Among the avenues this brilliant novel explores is how we define our ideas of family and friendship. A stirring and moving novel about the rise of the world of comic books and two men growing into our American century. Sammy Clay and Joe Kavalier and Rosa Saks are characters remarkably drawn. I had the pleasure to speak with Mr. Chabon when I purchased this amazing novel and the signed copy of it I will treasure forever. His writing is sublime, with sequences of prose that are amazing.
