This apparent sci-fi novel is really an allegorical tale about totalitarianism….and was the first book to be banned by the Soviet Union. I felt the novel starts strong and ends weak. Definitely doesn't read like it's 99 years old! Maybe that's the benefit of translated works, the translation can be updated. This is a classic dystopian novel, didn't blow my mind, but it was worth reading.
