age 13, i loved this. Aged 45, it was gripping, waffley (you know something's going to happen soon, so it increases the tension, but is annoying), has beautiful turns of phrase and some passages, and is full of extreme violence towards animals, civilians, cynical abuse of women, theft etc. I mean, to those with morality it's just stupid and offensive, and to those who like debauchery and pleasure, its pleasures - staying drunk all day, losing all your money at gambling as soon as you get it, pre
