I finally did it! I finally read my nemesis book! Okay I listened to it and that still counts.

This book is long...and tedious at times. I really enjoyed the beginning of it when there weren't as many characters involved. The middle trudged for me and there was a moment when I shouted "Finally" out loud. Listening to it also brought out some chuckles because of the language. The ending was satisfactory. What a patient man and what an intricate plan and plot.

It took me a while to get through this one, but I'm glad I finished it; what a fantastic novel!

I went into this novel honestly not knowing much about it except what little I remembered from having seen one of the film adaptations a decade ago, and that it's THE revenge story. I think the fact that I went in nearly blind (about as blind as you can be to a nearly 200 year old classic) helped a lot with my enjoyment, since I was genuinely caught off-guard by the many twists and turns of the plot.

Spettacolare feuilletton con una marea di personaggi tra cui a volte è complicato districarsi, se uno sopravvive poi ai capitoli della prigione di Edmond è destinato a non staccarsi più nonostante il moraleggiante Dumas padre faccia quasi l'impossibile per annoiare il lettore.
