So basically, this book was perfect (for me). I only wish that I could have had the opportunity to read it when I was Miranda's age. I also probably should have read this sooner, because time travel is one of my very favorite things to read about, but the time period (1979) didn't sound that appealing to me. My mistake! An interesting book about a girl living in the seventies. It's really about her relationship with people in her life. There is also a time-travel side path that is interesting. This book was a good quick read. Very deserving of a Newbery. I particularly liked it because it takes place in NYC. If you haven't read A Wrinkle in Time, I would highly recommend reading it before you read this book. ...more

I never would have read this except I needed a Newberry Winner for a reading challenge so I found this one as it was easily accessible and looked interesting.

it was interesting if a bit confusing at times but it does all come together near the end. For anyone that follows along on any of my reviews, time travel is right up my alley.

I loved, loved, loved this book! It wasn't what I was expecting at all, and the twist in the book really threw me. I can't say more without spoiling the book, but I loved how A Wrinkle in Time was incorporated into the book, and now I really want to read A Wrinkle in Time. ...more
